Sean (Kerr Smith) is op weg om een Mercedes af te leveren, en wil aansluitend naar het huwelijkfeest van zijn zuster. Onderweg neemt hij een lifter mee, (Brendan Fehr), die een vampier Jager blijkt te zijn. Hij achtervolgt een groep jonge vampiers die zich voeden met het bloed van onoplettende reizigers die onderweg te grazen nemen. Tijdens de reis vinden ze Megan (Isabella Miko), die door de groep vampiers voor dood is achtergelaten. Terwijl ze een plan smeden om Megan als lok prooi voor de vampiers te gebruiken raakt Sean steeds meer van haar gecharmeerd. Het verhaal wordt nog gecompliceerder als blijkt dat Sean ook geinfecteerd is met het vampier virus. Het wordt een race tegen de klok voor megan, sean, en Nick om de vampier leider te doden voordat Sean niet meer te redden is.
